Anushka Sharma was born on May 1, 1988 at Ayodhya Uttar Pradesh, India to Kumar Sharma and Ashima Sharma. Anushka's father is a Colonel (retd.) Her mother is the household worker. Karnesh Singh, the brother of Anushka and film producer served as Merchant Navy. Anushka has completed her studies at Army School in Bangalore, and then pursued a bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) at Mount Carmel College. Anushka holds a master's degree in Arts (Economics). Anushka was always aspired to be either a model or a journalist but never an actor. Anushka was enrolled into Elite Model Management after graduating and was trained by Prasad Bidapa, the stylist consultant. Anushka's debut as a fashion model was in the year 2017, in which she was a model for Wendell Rodricks at Lakme Fashion Week followed by being selected by Rodricks to appear in his Spring Summer 2007 collection. Anushka has since her Lakme Fashion Week modelling debut has appeared in commercials for companies like Fiat Palio Fiat Whisper Nathella Jewelry Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry. Anushka started auditioning films and joined an acting academy along with her professional career as models. In 2008 Anushka Sharma made her acting debut with the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. She took the time to prepare and did not attempt the test on her own. Then she was signed to three films under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film in which she appeared played a young woman who got married to a middle-aged man (the part Shah Rukh Khan is playing). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka was seen with Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das as well as Meiyang Chang in the 2010 movie "Badmash Company". The film received mixed praises. Anushka was in a movie named Band Baaja Baaraat, starring Ranveer in which she portrayed a Punjabi-American girl of middle class who sets up her own wedding-planning company. The film was well-received and was a huge success. Anushka had completed the three film contract with Yash Raj Films.
